Experts working to create a range of tasty new treats have come up with several new types of fish based sausage. While it might not sound like traditional fare don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

The sausages have been produced in part by Roger Webb, a New Zealander who helped develop the Tegel chicken sausage. Webb, an old friend of Jack Cooper, says he relishes the challenge of creating new types of food and believes that the sausages will be a hit here and could even make an impact overseas.

Blue Pacific Foods is dedicated to developing new ‘value added’ products for the local market and has already scored a major hit with its smoked flying fish – already dubbed Rarotongan Kippers.

Look out for the snacks on the menu at Trader Jacks and for sale at the Blue Pacific Foods store on the back road Ruatonga.
